Ellan Rankin, a past pupil of ours, recently accepted the challenge of illustrating our induction booklet Welcome to Whiteabbey Primary School. The booklet is used every year to welcome our new P1 children and help prepare them for their first days in P1.
We couldn't have imagined how wonderfully Ellan would meet her brief and the booklet is now available to see online: Welcome to Whiteabbey PS
Our Principal, Keith Wysner commented, "We are delighted by the beautiful child centred illustrations that fit so well with the hopes we have for our children.
Starting school is a massive thing in the lives of our little learners and we want to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. Mrs Lynsey McCormick our Head of Literacy and our P1 Teachers, Mrs Julie Beggs and Mrs Michelle McCallan have written a unique book focused on the needs of our children. Ellan's illustrations have brought the writing to life and we are very grateful to Ellan for all her time on this project."
We are so proud of Ellan and her success with illustrating Our Wee Place and her own book, The Secret Elephant and we all wish her well for the future."
